Hey guys, today I'm excited to share a delicious recipe with you that I discovered. It's called Ikan Tongkol Gulai Stail Kelantan, and it's a dish that originates from the Kelantan province in Malaysia. Trust me, this dish is absolutely amazing and it's easy to make too!

1 kg of fresh ikan tongkol (tuna fish)
A handful of curry leaves
2 tamarind pulp (asam gelugur)
1 can of coconut milk
3 red onions, blended
4 garlic cloves, blended
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon of coriander powder
1 tablespoon of cumin powder
1 tablespoon of fennel powder
2 teaspoons of chili powder
Salt and sugar to taste
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Heat up the oil in a pot on medium heat. Saute the blended onions and garlic until fragrant.
Add in the curry leaves and stir well.
Combine turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, fennel powder and chili powder into the pot. Stir until they're evenly mixed.
Add in the can of coconut milk and 1 litre of water. Stir well and let it boil.
Once the mixture is boiling, add in the ikan tongkol and tamarind pulp. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is fully cooked.
Season the dish with salt and sugar to your liking. Stir everything well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Once everything has been cooked to perfection, turn off the heat and transfer the dish to a serving plate.
Garnish the dish with some chopped coriander leaves and chili slices. Serve hot with some steamed rice.
