Ingredients:
1 packet of Bumbu Instan Nasi Briyani (200 gram)
500 gram of basmati rice
1 large onion, finely sliced
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
3 cardamom pods
3 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
800 ml of water
A pinch of saffron
1 handful of fried shallots
Instructions:
Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, heat up the vegetable oil in a pot and fry the finely sliced onions until they are crispy and golden brown.
Add the cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon sticks into the pot with the onions and fry until fragrant. Next, add the chopped garlic and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
Add the packet of Bumbu Instan Nasi Briyani into the pot and stir-fry until it is well mixed with the spices and onions.
Add the soaked and drained basmati rice to the pot and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, making sure each grain of rice is well coated with the spice mixture.
Add in the 800 ml of water to the pot, making sure to pour it evenly over the rice. Add a pinch of saffron to the pot and mix it in evenly.
Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
Once the rice is cooked, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before opening the lid. This lets the rice absorb any remaining moisture and makes the grains fluffier.
Garnish your Nasi Briyani with a handful of fried shallots and serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
