Hey y'all! Today, I'm excited to share with you a delicious recipe for Roti Canai that I came across recently. This recipe is special because it gives you super soft and fluffy Roti Canai that is perfect for any meal of the day. So, let's get cooking!
Ingredients:
- 500g of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 250ml of warm water
- 1 knob of butter
Instructions:
Firstly, mix the flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Then, add in the oil, egg, and warm water to the bowl and mix well until a sticky dough forms. Next, knead the dough on a floured surface for around 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Put a knob of butter on the dough and continue to knead for another 5 minutes.
After that, cover the dough and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Once the dough is rested, divide it into small balls about the size of a golf ball. Then, take one of the balls and stretch it out as thin as possible. Rub a bit of butter onto the stretched out dough and then fold it in half. Repeat this process a few times, folding and rubbing butter onto the dough each time.
Next, heat up a pan on medium-high and place the folded dough onto the pan. Cook each side for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat until all the dough is used up.
